Eye Exams
A professional eye exam is the first step in good eye care. At your appointment, a certified ophthalmic technician will perform initial screening and the first segment of your exam. Our physicians will then complete your exam and review the diagnosis and treatment with you. We always encourage you to ask questions during your eye exam.
Do You Wear Contact Lenses?
|
-
Always wash your hands before handling lenses.
- Build up wearing time – start with 4 hours the first day and
increase 1-2 hours per day until you are wearing your
lenses for approximately 8 hours per day.
- If you are not wearing your lenses, they should be in
contact lens solution.
- Use fresh solution daily. Never use water on your lenses.
- Never sleep with your lenses in your eyes.
- You must see the doctor about 2 weeks after your initial
appointment to have your lenses and eyes checked.
- Lenses should be worn for at least 2 hours before the
appointment.
- During this 2-week trial period, if you have any trouble
removing them, please call for additional training.
- If you should lose or tear a lens, please call for a replacement
before your next visit.
- After our normal business hours, if you cannot remove
your lenses, please call 978-256-5600 to reach the
covering physician on call.
- If your eyes become red or swollen, remove the lenses
immediately or have them removed. If redness persists
and/or there is pain, please call our office to have your
eyes checked.
