Dr. Alison B. Callahan is a sub-specialist in cosmetic, plastic, and reconstructive surgery related to the eye and surrounding structures. So much of one’s life experience depends on vision, including impressions made by the appearance of the eyes.
With aging, changes in skin elasticity and muscle tone can cause functional as well as cosmetic eye problems that can be corrected in as little as 30 minutes with a procedure called blepharoplasty.
Dr. Callahan has extensive experience in the functional and cosmetic rejuvenation of the upper and lower eyelids to enhance visual function and refresh a patient’s overall appearance.
Dr. Callahan has the uppermost credentials in oculofacial plastic surgery. She completed her American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery fellowship training in New York City, training under several leaders in the fields of aesthetic oculofacial and orbital surgery.
She received her medical degree from Columbia University’s College of Physicians and Surgeons where she graduated with honors.
She completed her Ophthalmology Residency in Boston at Harvard’s Massachusetts Eye and Ear infirmary. She is board certified in Ophthalmology.
Dr. Callahan’s interests include cosmetic and functional eyelid surgery, injection-based rejuvenation of the face, orbital tumors, tear duct surgery, and reconstructive surgery of the eyelid following skin cancer removal. To schedule an evaluation, please call 978-256-5600
