Even if you are having no difficulty with your vision, you should make it a priority to see your doctor for a comprehensive eye exam once every other year. These routine exams are key in detecting issues related to not just cataracts, but glaucoma and macular degeneration as well.
Quit Smoking and Cut Back on Cocktails
Cigarette smoking contributes to a number of health risks. It’s important to note that smoking cigarettes doubles your chances of developing cataracts. Cocktails should also be enjoyed in moderation. Similar to cigarette smoking, excess alcohol consumption can increase your risk of developing cataracts.
