Our Doctors

Our doctors provide care across a broad spectrum of needs — from the management and treatment of disease where sight is at risk, to an improvement in the quality of life that can only be accomplished through surgery, to basic requirements of sight that enables everyone to participate in a fulfilling life.

Ophthalmologists

Massachusetts Eye Associates has outstanding, board certified ophthalmologists with clinical specialties in cataract, glaucoma, LASIK and corneal surgery.

Optometrists

Our doctors provide primary eye care for all patients. Their specialties include diabetic eye exams, post-operative care of cataract patients, co-management of patients being treated for glaucoma, triage of urgent needs, and contact lens services. Each of our doctors has a specialty interest.

Whether it is fitting a specialty lens for keratoconus, assessing the visual acuity of a young child, introducing the benefits of contact lenses, or prescribing glasses for a unique purpose, just about every need can be managed by one of our doctors.

Pediatric Ophthalmology

Dr. Catherine Choi’s interests are the development of the visual system and the various diseases that disrupt the visual development in children. In addition, she manages adults with the condition of strabismus.

Vitreoretinal Disease and Surgery

Our clinic in Lowell provides care for patients with vitreoretinal disease. Depending on the disease condition, treatment goals may be to stop or slow the disease and preserve, improve or restore vision.

Untreated, some retinal diseases can cause severe vision loss or blindness. Referrals to a retina sub-specialist are typically made by other ophthalmologists or optometrists from the practice of the surrounding community.

Oculoplastic Surgery

Dr. Victoria North specializes in cosmetic, plastic and reconstructive surgery related to the eyes and the surrounding structures.

With aging, changes in skin elasticity and muscle tone around the eyes can cause functional as well as cosmetic problems that can be corrected with a minor surgical procedure.

Dr. North has the highest credentials in oculoplastic surgery having completed her training with several of the leaders in the field.

She has extensive experience in rejuvenating upper and lower eyelids to improve their visual function and overall appearance.
